This role involves identifying and reporting any health concerns to the cattle management team, while also collaborating effectively with various departments within the feedlot. The main objective is to ensure exceptional care for the livestock, thereby enhancing the overall productivity of the feedlot operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Comply with Beef Quality Assurance protocols
- Conduct daily health assessments of livestock
- Notify the cattle management team of any health anomalies
- Evaluate and report on the functionality of water supply systems
- Isolate sick animals and facilitate their transfer to medical care
- Support the logistics of cattle movement and shipping
- Attend to the care of horses, equipment, and facilities
- Manage the sorting and reintegration of treated cattle
- Ensure safe practices in horse riding and handling
- Document and monitor cattle health conditions
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols
- Minimum of one year experience in a feedlot setting
- Fundamental understanding of livestock health and behavior
- Familiarity with animal health management programs
- Proficient in horse riding and handling techniques
- Physical capability to manage livestock and equines
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Experience with equine equipment and handling
