Job Overview

St. Joseph's Healthcare System is seeking a highly skilled and responsive individual to join our team as a Medical Office Coordinator. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for following established policies and procedures, and various activities related to the patient registration process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collection of demographic, financial, and insurance information from patients
  • Financial screening of patients prior to services being rendered
  • Collection of patient financial responsibility and referral of self-pay patients to appropriate financial services
  • Accurate data entry and prompt service to all patients
  • Liaison for other ancillary departments
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a High School diploma or equivalent and up to one year of basic technical training in medical office practice, plus 3 to 6 months of on-the-job training and orientation. A Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification by the National Association of Healthcare Access Management is preferred. Bilingual skills are also a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of medical terminology are required.
