About the Role

Macerich is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Lakewood Center Mall. As a key member of our property operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our business strategies and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Initiatives: Assist in the implementation of all strategic initiatives, including strategic plans, business plans, business initiative programs, strategic partnership programs, and impact planning.
  • Capital and Major Projects: Work closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure all capital and major projects are on schedule and adhere to budget.
  • Regular Reviews and Evaluations: Assist the mall team in regular reviews, evaluations, and updates of the strategic and business plans, and forecasts.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Coordinate with Leasing, Business Development, and Shared Services in the preparation and continuous evaluation of the property forecast, the billing and collection process, and addressing any significant forecast and billing variances.
  • Customer Service: Follow Company procedures relating to late charges, letters of default, tenant inquiries, and tenant deliverables and correspondence.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform analytical review of sales reports and completion of sales variance reports.
  • Security and Maintenance: Work in partnership with the Operations Manager, Security, and contracted security provider to ensure a safe and pleasant shopping environment and preservation of the centers physical assets.
  • Contract Management: Ensure performance of housekeeping and maintenance contractors, as well as other key partners, meets company expectations.
  • Expense Management: Monitor monthly financial statements; manage expense variances.
  • Risk Management: Analyze incident reports, assessing risk, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Community Relations: Foster strong working relationships with law enforcement, city departments, and appropriate community organizations.
  • Marketing Support: Work with the marketing Manager and support the Marketing department in its role of generating traffic and sales and forging stronger relationships with our key audiences.
  • Retailer Relations: Establish and maintain positive alliances with retailers and understand their business in order to maximize sales productivity and success.
  • Leasing Support: Provide support to Leasing efforts, coordinating with them to ensure that the correct balance between income generation and merchandise mix is achieved for the centers short- and long-term benefit.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in the relationships between the Tenant Coordination and Real Estate departments and the property, customer, contractor, community, and city departments.
  • Team Development: Work with the Property Manager to align, focus, and unleash the talents of each member of the mall team to increase value to the property.
Requirements
  • Education: A college degree is required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Physical Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Compensation: Estimated compensation for this position is: $76,000 to 100,000 (Annual) plus annual Bonus Eligibility.
