Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, control, and administer the district's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and payroll.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel, including financial analysts and accountants.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and district policies.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the district's leadership team, including the superintendent and board of education.
  • Collaborate with other district departments to ensure effective financial management and planning.
  • Develop and manage the district's budget, including forecasting and projecting revenue and expenses.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial laws, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least six years of financial management-level experience in a public or private organization.
  • Experience with financial software applications and systems, including budgeting and accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience with financial reporting and compliance, including audits and financial statement preparation.
  • Certifications in accounting, finance, or a related field, such as CPA or CMA.
