The Assistant Vice President/ Vice President of Underwriting Governance will play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing the underwriting review strategies across various lines of business, including external delegated underwriting authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and implement comprehensive underwriting review strategies that align with the company's objectives.
- Design and execute essential governance controls across all specialty insurance lines, with an emphasis on Financial and Professional Lines, Commercial Property, and Excess Casualty.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new specialty insurance opportunities, including Delegated Arrangements and new business units.
- Lead and support special projects within the Specialty Insurance Segment, focusing on Compliance, Regulatory activities, and product development.
- Collaborate with the Internal Audit department to ensure adherence to governance standards.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of specialty insurance products and coverage, ideally gained through experience as an underwriter or claims adjuster.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with underwriters and internal departments.
- Strong analytical skills and the capability to resolve complex issues.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in specialty lines insurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a self-motivated and organized approach.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience and clarity in challenging situations, ensuring that business partners are well-informed and supported.
