We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead our field operations team in the Richmond, VA area. As a key member of our Survey/Geospatial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the collection and interpretation of geospatial data, ensuring high-quality results, and collaborating with our team to deliver exceptional services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of surveyors and geospatial technicians in the collection and interpretation of geospatial data
- Oversee the planning and execution of survey projects, including ROW surveys, utility surveys, 3D scanning, and horizontal and vertical control surveys
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement survey methodologies and best practices
- Ensure compliance with survey and mapping specifications and standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions
- 10 years of field survey experience and at least 5 years of experience as a Party Chief or equivalent knowledge
- Strong understanding of survey and mapping specifications and standards
- Proficiency with data collectors, data collection techniques, robotic instruments, conventional field note-keeping, total stations, and leveling
- Experience with or ability to learn the use of 3D scanners
- Self-starter with little need for supervision once provided with a work assignment
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Willingness to travel
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions
- A safe and comfortable work environment
