Survey Instrument Technician

KBJW is seeking a skilled Survey Instrument Technician to join our team in Henrico, Virginia. As a Survey Instrument Technician, you will assist in the collection of field survey data, operate and maintain survey equipment, and work with the Party Chief to execute survey work.

  • Operate field equipment, including levels, GPS, and total stations, as well as data collectors.
  • Take field notes of readings and observations, and draw sketches.
  • Maintain vehicle and field equipment.
  • Perform field and office calculations, and know principles of staking and marking.
  • Perform other related field and office duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of mathematics through algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • General knowledge of surveying equipment, practices, and principles.
  • Basic knowledge of survey theory, including slope reduction and differential leveling.
  • Great attitude and a desire to grow professionally.
