Role Summary

As a Service Tool Engineer at Rivian, you'll play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and implementing service tooling across our Service Organization. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create solutions for servicing and repairing our vehicles, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible experience.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to support all service providers
  • Lead validation of new tools with the Service Lab, Service training, and Technical Publications teams
  • Maintain standards and organization of Tooling for the Rivian Service Organization
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create solutions to servicing and repairing Rivian vehicles
  • Assist technical writers with service tool procedural content in all service manuals
  • Support process improvement activities and validation of repair procedures for accuracy (process, labor times, safety, etc.)
  • Drive improvement in efficiency for service procedures without compromising quality and safety of the repair
  • Validate special service tools prior to implementation to the field
  • Design tooling solutions for campaigns and containment initiatives
  • Support tooling cost analyst impact on different serviceability methods and processes
  • Provide service support to the field to support the Service organization
  • Proactively collaborate with Service Operations, Field Service, Technical Publications, Service Parts, and Service Training teams
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Design
  • BS in Engineering or Technology equivalent
  • Experience working a project from beginning to end
  • Experience creating and maintaining product specifications and CAD drawings; Catia preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Experience working in start-up environments
  • Knowledge of commercial automotive tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of EV Powertrains and HV systems
  • Strong written and communications skills
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail
  • Hands-on fabrication skills, manufacturing, and experience building prototypes
  • Proven track-record as a problem solver
Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $85k - $107k (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
