Job Summary

The Equipment and Tooling Engineer is responsible for the design, development, prototyping, documentation, and deployment of tools, fixtures, jigs, and equipment selection and mechanical integration.

This role involves collaborating with R&D and Production engineers to lead the design of tools and equipment selection to accurately and repeatedly fabricate, assemble, and test products using DFM/DFA principles.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SolidWorks and be able to create detailed part and assembly drawings utilizing industry best practices and GD&T.

Additionally, the candidate should be able to create cost-efficient solutions by mixing custom designs and off-the-shelf components.

The Equipment and Tooling Engineer will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of tools and equipment, from concept to fabrication and commissioning.

They will also be responsible for interfacing with tool makers, vendors, and internal/external machine shops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tools, fixtures, and jigs for production and R&D purposes
  • Collaborate with R&D and Production engineers to lead the design of tools and equipment selection
  • Create detailed part and assembly drawings utilizing industry best practices and GD&T
  • Create cost-efficient solutions by mixing custom designs and off-the-shelf components
  • Responsible for the complete lifecycle of tools and equipment, from concept to fabrication and commissioning
  • Interface with tool makers, vendors, and internal/external machine shops

Requirements

  • BSME or equivalent engineering degree
  • Experience with SolidWorks and CAD design
  • Knowledge of mechanisms and motion
  • Ability to create detailed part and assembly drawings utilizing industry best practices and GD&T
  • Ability to create cost-efficient solutions by mixing custom designs and off-the-shelf components
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
