The Role: Lead Nursing Educator

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing;
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse license;
  • A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting;
  • Current CPR certification;
  • Two years of teaching or clinical coordination experience with proficiency in instruction and curriculum design;
  • Experience in program coordination and the use of virtual and simulation technologies;
  • Instructional experience in Practical Nursing;
  • Current knowledge of nursing practices as per the Florida Board of Nursing;
  • Proficiency in technology for classroom and clinical instruction;
  • Must meet credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classroom instruction and clinical supervision for nursing program courses while designing and developing nursing programs;
  • Collaborate with department heads to design nursing course curricula;
  • Organize educational experiences that lead to student credentialing and employment in nursing;
  • Contribute to student recruitment and retention efforts;
  • Instruct in clinical curricula;
  • Act as a liaison with healthcare agencies;
  • Serve as a professional nursing role model;
  • Participate in the nursing accreditation process;
  • Engage with the community;
  • Contribute to college committees;
  • Be flexible to teach at various campuses as needed.

Specific Duties:

  • Develop and implement nursing programs and curricula;
  • Supervise students in clinical settings according to Florida Board of Nursing guidelines;
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on program development and instruction delivery;
  • Mentor adjunct nursing faculty;
  • Effectively teach nursing theory and skills-related subjects;
  • Compile documentation for nursing department requirements;
  • Evaluate and document student progress;
  • Support student success initiatives;
  • Participate in maintaining accreditation standards;
  • Engage in professional development activities;
  • Provide recommendations on budgetary and program management matters;
  • Coordinate clinical experiences with local healthcare agencies;
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
