Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee our innovative medical device development initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of product development from conception to completion within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the comprehensive product development process.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions to establish project requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and critical deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities among both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create detailed mechanical manufacturing documentation for suppliers, including schematics and specifications.
  • Establish electrical reliability testing protocols to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Design and evaluate manufacturing test setups and procedures, as well as analyze product returns to identify failure causes.
  • Develop firmware, control algorithms, and user interfaces for electro-mechanical designs using industry-standard tools.
  • Investigate and suggest potential technological advancements and areas for patent opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support electronic prototypes and quality assurance efforts.
  • Conduct project updates and design reviews.
  • Contribute to risk analysis and usability assessments for medical product certifications.
  • Engage in the development of ISO and AAMI standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the Electrical Engineering team.
  • Support the overall objectives of the organization by undertaking additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in PCBA design within the medical, consumer, automotive, or aerospace sectors is essential.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role for product development projects is required.
  • Strong skills in EE CAD and firmware development for robust PCBA designs are necessary; cloud and app development experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to navigate complex priorities and coordinate activities among diverse teams.
  • Proven expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Familiarity with mass production processes for consumer products, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), is preferred.
  • Knowledge of related technical fields, such as mechanical engineering, is beneficial.
  • Experience with agency certifications (ISO, IEC, AAMI, UL, CE, CISPR, FCC, FDA) is required, with prior knowledge of FDA-related standards being a significant advantage.
  • Experience interacting with certification bodies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and guide junior engineers.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
