We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research and Development Intern to join our team at Phospholutions, Inc. in State College, PA.
About the Role:This part-time internship will provide the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing agtech start-up company, enhancing global phosphorus use. The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day research tasks related to greenhouse and laboratory experiments, including preparation of planting materials, samples, reagents, and plant maintenance.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of planting materials, samples, reagents, and plant maintenance for lab experiments and greenhouse trials.
- Collect and record data, observations, and soil and tissue samples.
- Maintain accurate records during and after experiments and trials.
- Manage technology, materials, and supplies for the lab and greenhouse facilities.
- Measure volumetric water content per research protocols and report information appropriately.
- Progress towards an undergraduate degree in Plant Science, Biology, Soil Science, Chemistry, Material Science, Agronomy, or related field.
- Basic understanding of scientific methods and chemistry principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
- Experience with statistics and graphing software.
- Laboratory or greenhouse experience.
The successful candidate must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs occasionally and work in a laboratory and greenhouse environment with exposure to electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds.
Appropriate PPE will be provided by the Company.
