Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Research and Development Engineer to join our team at the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University. As a key member of our Communications and Signal Processing Division, you will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, integrating, and testing advanced communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and direct a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve project goals
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members
  • Plan and direct research projects related to communications and signal processing
  • Collaborate with senior technical staff to develop innovative solutions to challenging national problems
  • Interact and collaborate regularly with stakeholders, including sponsors and other team members

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in systems research and development
  • Experience with collection and processing architectures for RF signals
  • Direct experience with AoA and TDOA/FDOA geolocation techniques
  • Strong communication and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience with wireless specifications and communications protocols
  • Detail-oriented thinking with ability to see the big picture
  • Troubleshooting and conflict resolution experience

Salary Range:

$109,000.00 - $191,000.00 per year, including all possible grades, may be impacted by geographic differential.
