Human Research Technologist

Join the Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry Research, in Hershey, PA, as a Human Research Technologist (Sleep Research Assistant) to assist the sleep research team with various research projects.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the development of project-specific sleep data management documentation.
- Collaborate with project coordinators, statisticians, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects.
- Work on observational cohort studies, experimental studies, and clinical trials providing behavioral therapy to human subjects.
- Recruit and schedule subjects/participants for lab visits.
- Maintain subject/participant database and obtain informed consent.
- Organize lab materials, conduct data collection using standardized questionnaires and structured interviews, monitor incoming data for accuracy.
- Troubleshoot for technical problems and maintain the integrity of the project protocol.
- Monitor the safety and confidentiality of the project and its subjects/participants.
- Code and score observational data.
- Ensure data is scored and entered correctly and reconciled per PI guidelines.
- Learn and perform actigraphy, polysomnography (PSG), lead EKGs, and performance testing and rating scales.
- Train others to collect, enter, score, and interpret data.
- Prepare reports summarizing data gatherings; meet with appropriate individuals to discuss data and ensure consistent interpretation or results.
- Associate's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comfortable collecting and analyzing biological samples (saliva, urine, blood) and knowledge of phlebotomy desired, but not required.
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check.
