Position Overview
As a Receptionist at Grand Fitness, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service to our members, prospective members, and guests. Your primary goal will be to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment that embodies our commitment to a positive fitness experience. Being part of the Grand Fitness team means embracing a culture that values health, community, and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome members and guests as they arrive and depart, addressing any inquiries or concerns during their visit.
- Promote our inclusive atmosphere by engaging with members on the gym floor, offering assistance, and supporting their fitness journeys while adhering to club policies.
- Address member issues and escalate to management when necessary.
- Answer phone calls in a courteous manner, assisting callers with their questions.
- Handle membership-related tasks such as sign-ups, updates to contact and billing information, cancellations, and managing unpaid balances.
- Conduct outreach to prospective members and provide tours to assess their membership needs.
- Process retail transactions accurately and strive to meet sales objectives.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all fitness equipment and amenities, including communal areas and your designated space.
- Ensure restrooms are kept clean, stocked, and organized by following the established cleaning schedule.
- Regularly inspect all areas of the facility, promptly addressing any safety or cleanliness issues.
- Report maintenance and facility concerns, such as broken equipment or plumbing issues.
This position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, in accordance with applicable laws.
Qualifications
- Preferred 6-12 months of experience in a customer service role.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Willingness to obtain CPR/AED certification (training provided).
- Basic computer skills are required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the facility during shifts.
- Effective communication in person and over the phone.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals during shifts.
- Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
- Ability to bend and twist to perform tasks.
