Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the buying process for a given set of goods, applying sourcing policy, and interfacing between suppliers and the entity with respect to specifications and budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Place and follow up on purchase orders, manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution, and manage problems and schedule changes.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement.
  • Manage claims, provide sourcing management, data analysis, and negotiations support.
  • Define and improve sourcing strategies at business or plant level.
  • Stay up-to-date on current market conditions, pricing, and sources of supply.
  • Ensure adherence to GE Aviation compliance, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and various functions to execute source changes and coordinate raw materials.
  • Participate in large-scale negotiations and work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive cost, delivery, quality, and supplier development.
  • Provide informal guidance to new team members and communicate complex information to others in straightforward situations.
  • Utilize technical expertise and judgment to solve problems and leverage technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution (or a High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, or materials).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, or materials.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
