Procurement Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Jedson Engineering. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, from initial bid meetings to contract closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage existing supplier relationships to obtain quotations and bids for projects.
  • Manage the Request for Bid process, including scope of work generation, bid meetings, and site visits.
  • Prepare and present bid analysis for various scopes of work.
  • Attend regular project meetings to ensure procurement activities align with project goals.
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers and vendors.
  • Maintain and update procurement tracking spreadsheets for projects.
  • Verify invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to identify and maintain vendors and suppliers for equipment and construction.
  • Assist in developing and revising procurement practices and procedures.
  • Manage contract lifecycle from initiation to closeout, including contract modifications, claims management, and dispute resolution.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of procurement experience in the engineering or construction industry.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Basic understanding of contract law and negotiation principles.
