Position Overview

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids stands as a premier global advocacy organization dedicated to diminishing tobacco consumption worldwide through the enactment and enforcement of effective public health policies. Our collaborative efforts with local partners have led to transformative changes in tobacco control legislation across over 60 nations. By empowering local advocates, we champion impactful public health initiatives while assisting governments and civil societies in upholding tobacco control regulations and achieving legal victories.

Tobacco usage remains the foremost preventable cause of mortality, claiming over 8 million lives globally each year.

The Operations Associate is a vital contributor to the International Communications Team. This role is designed to enhance the operational efficiency of our vibrant network of communicators situated in Washington, D.C., and across the globe, thereby advancing our mission to implement robust communication strategies in key regions. The Associate will also provide support to designated regional and country teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Efficiently process and monitor a substantial volume of consultant and vendor invoices, payments, and contracts.
  2. Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  3. Prepare bank deposits and manage general ledger postings and statements.
  4. Compile expense reports utilizing the Concur System and assist in managing travel-related expenses.
  5. Coordinate all logistical elements for international and D.C.-based meetings, events, and conferences, including travel arrangements, venue selection, and participant invitations.
  6. Assist the International Communications Team and selected regional teams with calendar management and meeting organization.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, accompanied by a minimum of three years of experience in operations or accounting.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in international settings and cross-cultural environments is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with Raisers Edge and SAP Concur Expense Management System is desirable.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
