Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Specialist II-IV Certified to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed MRI procedures with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI procedures on designated anatomical areas, under the general direction of the radiologist and supervisor.
  • Utilize hospital and radiology information systems to access patient information, track appointments, and verify orders.
  • Document patient information, exam details, and machine performance data in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Administer IV contrast media, explain procedures to patients, and engage radiologists and/or LIP as necessary.
  • Set up and maintain equipment, perform quality control checks, and ensure proper use of imaging and peripheral equipment.
  • Position patients and MRI equipment for optimal imaging, use identifying markers, and follow accepted MRI procedures.
  • Solve problems during patient examinations, alter examinations as needed, and confer with other technologists.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, transmit and/or segment images for PACS, and generate high-quality hard copies when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized radiographic area, prepare equipment and supplies for future exams, and recognize medical emergencies.
  • Effectively assess patient information, plan procedures accordingly, and use standard procedures to identify patients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Intravenous Contrast Administration Certification in New York State
  • ARRT Primary Certification/Registration New York State License (Radiologic technology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy)
  • Advanced ARRT Certification in MRI
  • BLS Certification
