Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Specialist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed MRI procedures with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures on designated anatomical areas, under the general direction of the radiologist and supervisor.
  • Use hospital and radiology information systems to access patient information, including appointment times, exam types, and patient reports.
  • Document begin, complete, and departure times, as well as maintain departmental log books and machine performance data.
  • Administer IV contrast media, explain procedures to patients, and engage radiologists and/or LIP as necessary.
  • Set up and utilize MRI equipment, perform quality control checks, and maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Position patients and MRI equipment for optimal imaging, use identifying markers, and follow accepted MRI procedures.
  • Solve problems that arise during patient examinations, alter examinations as needed, and confer with other technologists.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, perform transmission and segmentation for PACS, and generate high-quality hard copies of images.
  • Maintain cleanliness of radiographic areas, prepare equipment and supplies, and recognize medical emergencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Intravenous Contrast Administration Certification in New York State
  • ARRT Certification/Registration
