Position Summary: As an Aviation Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the service, repair, and overhaul of aircraft to guarantee their airworthiness. This role requires minimal supervision and a solid understanding of various aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Maintenance: Possess intermediate knowledge of all aircraft areas and assigned workspaces.
  • Repair and Modification: Execute routine maintenance tasks in specialized aircraft areas, including developing repair schemes using Structural Repair Manuals (SRM) or engineering data.
  • Communication: Effectively collaborate with maintenance personnel at all levels, keeping them informed of work progress and challenges.
  • Documentation: Complete on-the-job training forms and required reading materials.
  • Technical Skills: Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and specifications to assess repair feasibility and methods.
  • Operational Testing: Conduct tests to ensure systems are functioning correctly.

Specialized Duties:

  • Flight Control: Manage the removal and installation of flight control surfaces and components, perform weight and balance calculations, and troubleshoot flight control systems.
  • Systems Maintenance: Oversee the removal and replacement of landing gear, engines, and air-conditioning systems, while troubleshooting these systems as needed.
  • Sheet Metal and Structures: Conduct structural tasks such as repairing or replacing primary structural components and fabricating parts as necessary.
  • Cabin Interiors: Handle the removal and reinstallation of interior components, ensuring all systems are in optimal condition.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Airframe and/or Power Plant License preferred.
  • Two or more years of related commercial or military aircraft experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders and aircraft stairs.
