About the Role: The Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs Office of Student Affairs is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as an Assistant Director for Student Engagement. This dynamic role encourages active involvement in campus life, fosters inclusive programming, and guides emerging student leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging social, cultural, and educational programs that cater to graduate students' needs.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Student Affairs to develop and implement events, such as Welcome Week and stress reduction activities.
  • Work closely with Life Design, Alumni Relations, and AAP Faculty and Events to deliver programming that promotes student success.
  • Co-create and implement activities that increase networking opportunities for all students.
  • Assist in managing partnerships with AAP colleagues, student affairs departments, and external organizations.
  • Serve as an advisor to student organizations, providing guidance on event planning, budgeting, and leadership development.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion by collaborating with campus partners and diversity offices.
  • Represent Student Affairs at open houses, campus-wide committees, and professional organizations like NACA.
  • Analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for growth.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field.
  • Three years of relevant advising experience, preferably in student affairs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
