Position: Host Home Provider

Become a Host Home Provider or Shared Living Provider with Vista Care. As a Shared Living Provider, you will operate as an Independent Contractor with Vista Care, a prominent organization in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Monthly contracted payments can vary from $2,100 to $5,500, depending on the level of support required by the individual in your care. This income is tax-exempt under the Foster Care Act, and you will also receive Room & Board assistance to help cover everyday living expenses.

Vista Care employs a matching process to connect potential Shared Living Providers with individuals seeking this type of arrangement, focusing on lifestyle compatibility, interests, and support needs. You will have the flexibility to define the level of care you can provide, with your earnings directly correlating to the support offered.

Job Type: Independent Contractor

Compensation Range: $2,100 to $5,500 per month

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily living skills, including cleaning, household management, budgeting, cooking, and medication administration.
  • Facilitate learning and skill development rather than performing tasks for the individual.
  • Organize and manage medical appointments.
  • Provide transportation for medical visits, community activities, and employment.
  • Document daily activities using a web-based Electronic Health Record system.
  • Encourage community engagement and social interaction.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Vista Care's policies.
  • Maintain communication with Vista Care representatives.
  • Support the individual’s physical, mental, social, and behavioral needs.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

  • Assistance with personal care tasks such as bathing and feeding.
  • Support for medical protocols related to specific health conditions.
  • Care for individuals with complex medical or behavioral needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must reside in the state where services will be provided.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must successfully pass required background checks.
  • Home environment must meet Vista Care's Housing Quality Standards.
  • Experience in Shared Living is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must possess adequate homeowner's or renter's insurance.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have access to a computer and the internet.
  • Must complete all required training courses provided by Vista Care.
