Gillette Children's is seeking an Imaging Specialist to join our dedicated radiology team. We are looking for a proactive, self-sufficient, and accountable professional to contribute to our imaging department. The position involves variable working hours, primarily during weekdays, with occasional weekend and holiday responsibilities. The selected individual will also participate in after-hours call rotations as needed. This role is classified as a 0.8 FTE, making it eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. New hires may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 (subject to applicable taxes).

The Imaging Specialist is tasked with executing diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established departmental protocols. This role requires interaction with patients across various demographics, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $31.36 to $45.44, influenced by factors such as experience, education, and certifications. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to physician requests for imaging services by producing high-quality diagnostic images that meet clinical expectations.
  • Utilize imaging equipment safely and proficiently, including:
    • Radiographic systems
    • C-arm and O-arm technologies
    • Portable imaging devices
    • Fluoroscopic systems
  • Effectively operate ancillary equipment relevant to imaging modalities, such as:
    • Computed radiography systems
    • Patient positioning devices
    • Ceiling lifts
    • Imaging printers
    • Digitizers
    • PACS and RIS systems
  • Conduct a variety of imaging exams, including:
    • Radiographic imaging of skull, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities
    • Fluoroscopic procedures
  • Perform patient assessments, including pain evaluation and pregnancy status, to ensure safe imaging.
  • Educate patients about the imaging process and what to expect.
  • Document patient histories accurately.
  • Position patients appropriately for imaging.
  • Select appropriate imaging protocols and technical parameters.
  • Provide post-procedure instructions to patients.
  • Review and evaluate the quality of resulting images, accepting or rejecting them as necessary.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Certification and registration with the ARRT, or eligibility for ARRT certification with completion within one year of graduation.
  • Experience or knowledge working with pediatric and/or disabled populations.
  • Flexibility in collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience in a digital imaging environment.
Preferred:
  • Associate Degree or higher in a relevant field.
