Job Title: Registered Nurse

Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide high-quality patient care and education
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure best possible outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Working Conditions:

The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures.

The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders.

The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs.

The incumbent must complete annual Employee Health requirements, such as annual TB screening or testing, as a condition of employment.
