Podiatric Surgeon

Job Summary:

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatry Specialist to join our team at the Amarillo VA Healthcare System. As a Podiatric Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing surgical procedures, and training podiatry residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform surgical procedures and provide patient care in an office-based setting and operating room
• Train podiatry residents and provide guidance and mentorship
• Consult with other medical professionals to provide authoritative views and opinions
• Be available 24/7 to provide emergency consultations and care for surgical patients
• See hospital patients daily and carry a pager or be available by phone for emergency consultations

Requirements:

• Board qualified or board certified by a Council on Podiatric Medical Education certification board, or other equivalent certification to grant surgical privileges
• Experience performing duties as a podiatrist and surgeon, and completion of an accredited residency
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
