Job Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Reusable Medical Device Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of reusable medical devices throughout our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the management of reusable medical devices
  • Provide education and training to healthcare staff on the proper use and maintenance of reusable medical devices
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and resolve issues related to reusable medical devices
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to reusable medical device management
Requirements
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Experience as an RN will be evaluated to determine if the experience is of an acceptable level of quality with regard to the following five dimensions of nursing: Practice, Veteran/Patient Driven Care, Leadership, Professional Development, and Evidence/Based Practice/Research
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN or MSN preferred
  • 2-3 years of critical care nursing experience preferred
  • BLS Certification required
  • Sterile Processing Level 1 Certification preferred Required within 90 days of hire
