Job Title: WIC Coordinator

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a dedicated and experienced WIC Coordinator to join our team. As a WIC Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing nutritional services and support to patients and clients.

Job Summary:

The WIC Coordinator will oversee the WIC Program, providing nutrition assessment and counseling to high-risk clientele, developing nutrition care plans, and supervising WIC staff. This position requires strong diplomacy, supervision, delegation, teaching, problem-solving, and administrative skills, as well as community awareness of resources available.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate WIC Program activities, including reporting, data gathering, and maintenance of program files and records.
  • Plan and provide nutrition consultations, in-services, and continuing education opportunities to Nutrition Department staff and Sea Mar staff.
  • Supervise, direct, schedule, and provide training for WIC Nutritionists, Nutrition Assistants, and WIC Clerks.
  • Participate in county, state, and local nutritionists meetings as needed.
  • Conduct outreach activities in the community and maintain communication with referral agencies.
Requirements:
  • Preferably a degree in nutrition from an accredited college or university.
  • Approved hospital dietetic internship or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience with the WIC Program, multicultural populations, and the use of interpreters.
  • 7 hours of HIV/AIDS course.
  • Must maintain current R.D. and C.D. credentials (as applicable, for registered dietitians).
  • Medical Assistant-Registered Certification required for Hemoglobin testing (if providing direct service).
