About River Partners
Founded in 1998, River Partners is dedicated to revitalizing California's river ecosystems. Our approach combines modern agricultural techniques, advanced scientific research, and collaborative partnerships to restore river habitats and enhance wildlife corridors. We have successfully rehabilitated more land along California's rivers than any other organization in the western United States, impacting nearly 20,000 acres through numerous projects.
Our Mission
Healthy rivers are vital for a thriving California, providing essential resources for agriculture, communities, and unique wildlife. With only 5% of our native riverside habitat remaining, our efforts to restore these ecosystems are crucial for biodiversity and environmental health.

Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Planning Director and team to identify and evaluate potential restoration projects.
- Engage with partner organizations, agencies, landowners, and stakeholders to promote project opportunities.
- Assist in securing funding for project planning, design, and implementation.
- Support River Partners' involvement in various planning processes and collaborative initiatives.
- Communicate with policymakers and elected officials regarding project priorities.
- Assist in administrative tasks related to project management, including invoicing and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders and the public, promoting our mission and initiatives.
- Travel to project sites to assess opportunities and engage with relevant parties.
- Contribute to other departmental goals as needed.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of hydrology and ecology, particularly in Central Valley river systems.
- Experience in planning, stakeholder engagement, or advocacy related to river restoration.
- Familiarity with local governance, community organizations, and environmental nonprofits.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High ethical standards and integrity.

Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in planning, environmental science, or a related field; or an undergraduate degree with relevant professional experience.
- Five or more years of experience in natural resource management or restoration.
- Valid California driver's license with no restrictions.
