Job Overview

The primary role of the E-Commerce Business Development Manager is to develop and oversee business systems and processes that support E-commerce sales at Arc3 Gases. They are responsible for managing product content, optimizing business functionality for E-commerce transactions, and enhancing the performance of Arc3's B2B platform via integrated solutions. Reporting directly to the President of the company, effective cross-functional communication with internal and external stakeholders is crucial for their success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales, Sales Managers, and Regional Managers to align E-commerce promotions with overarching sales initiatives, ensuring promotional activities are accurate and effective.
  • Develop and maintain engaging online business promotions to enhance customer interaction and sales potential.
  • Manage the overall operations of E-commerce platforms and systems, aimed at ensuring seamless day-to-day functionality and user satisfaction.
  • Set up new E-commerce accounts, defining roles and privileges, confirming pricing structures, and facilitating internal collaboration with the billing department to streamline account management.
  • Manage E-commerce operations including monitoring daily orders, data analysis, report creation, and confirming all orders have been received by the branch and shipped on time.
  • Analyze product data on the E-commerce platform for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary to maintain high standards.
  • Train and manage staff to maintain inventory data in our ERP system to support E-commerce activities.
  • Train staff to identify errors, prioritize issue escalations and communication with a sense of urgency to resolve issues effectively and maintain high customer service levels.
  • Manage relationships and maintain necessary API connections with E-commerce vendors such as Computers Unlimited, DDS, and EvolX to ensure API connections are maintained as needed.
  • Keep an "Eyes Up" approach to technology and innovation, continuously seeking and integrating advancements to provide a cutting-edge user experience.
  • Maintain site and product SEO to enhance visibility and drive traffic.
  • Maintain relevant support documents and resources to assist customers and staff in navigating and utilizing the E-commerce system efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to establish site analytics and use those insights to drive improvements in E-commerce strategies.
  • Perform other duties as required, adapting to evolving business needs and technological advancements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. A two-year or four-year college degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in B2B distribution E-commerce, with a proven track record of managing online platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively is required.
  • Excellent computer skills are required. Web design and/or web development, including HTML, is preferred.
  • Experience working with product data is preferred.
  • Knowledge of TIMS, PIMS, or EvolX platforms is a plus.
  • Welding and/or industrial gas experience is a plus.
