KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing processes to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to facilitate the annual financial audit and ensure compliance with federal grant requirements.
- Maintain adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ensure that financial policies are in line with regulatory standards.
- Enhance financial systems to meet the evolving reporting needs of the organization, providing necessary training and support to staff.
- Manage external relationships with financial institutions and vendors to ensure optimal management of the organization’s financial resources.
- Develop and implement cash management strategies to maintain liquidity and safeguard organizational assets.
- Stay informed on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, adapting internal policies as necessary.
- Mentor and develop finance team members to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the financial health of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of ten years in accounting and financial management, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with financial software systems.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, with a focus on customer service and collaboration.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain composure under pressure and demonstrate respect and integrity in all interactions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position primarily operates in an office setting, with occasional requirements for travel to attend meetings or training sessions.
