Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer to maintain the overall appearance and condition of our properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, life safety, electrical, plumbing, and hardware systems are in superior working condition.

About the Role

  • \
  • Maintain the assigned property's mechanical, life safety, electrical, plumbing, and hardware systems in excellent condition.\
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as scheduled and directed by senior engineers.\
  • Monitor and ensure the proper operation of life safety systems, including announcements and signs when disabled for maintenance or repair.\
  • Conduct routine inspections of building mechanical areas and common spaces, reporting any problems to the Chief Engineer or Facilities Manager.\
  • Coordinate with other building staff to ensure temporary coverage of absences.\
  • Purchase repair parts and supplies as needed, making budgeted expenditures or contracting services on behalf of the building as directed.\
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of building mechanical and electrical rooms.\
  • Prepare time sheets accurately and neatly.\
  • Exhibit proper care and use of company property.\
  • Communicate effectively with other building staff.\\/ul>\

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.\
  • DC 1st Class Steam license preferred but not required.\
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook preferred.\
  • Strong communication skills.\\/ul>\

Compensation

\

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
