The Building People is seeking a skilled Building Automation Engineer to join our team in Washington D.C. and its neighboring suburbs. This role will involve providing services related to the expansion, upgrade or replacement of building automation hardware and software for smart building infrastructure.

About The Job

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in programming, startup, and commissioning of control systems. As a Building Automation Engineer, you will work independently to meet project requirements with limited supervision. Your responsibilities will include designing and engineering control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents.

Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents
  • Program projects with various levels of complexity
  • Perform network troubleshooting, database troubleshooting, and repair programming
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on system configuration, network, and software requirements, graphics, programming, and sequences of operations
  • Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines
  • Provide owner training as required by the project
  • Execute system commissioning and functional testing
  • Assist in installation of control hardware
  • Startup and commission new hardware installations
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup, and commissioning of control systems
  • Niagara N4 certification
  • Experience with multiple manufacturers of controls a plus
  • Technical knowledge with installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
