Job Title: Senior Building Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Controls Engineer to join our team at The Building People. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing building automation systems.

Job Summary:

  • We are looking for a Senior Building Controls Engineer with experience in programming, commissioning, and testing of control systems.
  • You will work independently to meet project requirements with limited supervision.
  • You will collaborate with the engineering team on system configuration, network, and software requirements.

About the Role:

  • Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Program projects with various levels of complexity, including network troubleshooting, database troubleshooting, and repair programming.
  • Develop and configure sequence of operations, programming, graphics, database, network, and integrations into third-party systems.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines.
  • Provide owner training as required by the project.
  • Execute system commissioning and functional testing.
  • Assist in installation of control hardware.
  • Startup and commission new hardware installations.
  • Provide project management assistance on projects as required, interfacing directly with customers.
  • Supervise subcontractors and suppliers as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup, and commissioning of control systems.
  • Niagara N4 certification.
  • Experience with multiple manufacturers of controls is a plus.
  • Technical knowledge with installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs.
  • Must be willing to work at heights.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
