Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music Ministry Director to join our team at the Diocese of Tucson. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the weekly liturgical music program for Sunday and liturgical celebrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive liturgical music program that aligns with the mission and values of the Diocese of Tucson.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of musicians and choir members to ensure high-quality music ministry.
  • Collaborate with the pastor and other parish staff to ensure seamless integration of music ministry with other aspects of parish life.
  • Manage the music ministry budget and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local music schools, colleges, and universities to identify potential candidates for music ministry positions.
  • Provide administrative support to the pastor and other parish staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in music or a related field.
  • Experience in liturgical music ministry, preferably in a Catholic parish.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in music or a related field.
  • Experience in music education or direction.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) skills.
