Job Title: Music Minister

Under the direction of the Pastor, the Music Minister is responsible for coordinating the weekly liturgical music program for Sunday and liturgical celebrations. This role requires a strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership in the Roman Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a liturgical music program that aligns with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Recruit and train musicians and choir members to ensure they are well-versed in the liturgy and Church protocol.
  • Meet with volunteer musicians on a regular basis to provide training and feedback.
  • Manage a budget for music supplies, mailings, and song books.
  • Communicate effectively with office staff and parish personnel to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as typing correspondence, updating records, and answering phone calls.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in music.
  • Experience with Catholic liturgical music.
  • Level I of the Diocesan Ministry Certification with renewal every three years.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English).
