Job Title: Music Minister

Under the direction of the Pastor, the Music Minister is responsible for coordinating the weekly liturgical music program for Sunday and liturgical celebrations. This role requires a strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership in the Roman Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the liturgical music program for the parish, including the formation of a choir and musical groups as necessary.
  • Ensure that all liturgical musicians and choir members are well-versed in the liturgy of the Church and the propriety of their duties.
  • Recruit and form musicians and choir members as necessary.
  • Develop and manage a budget for the music ministry, including supplies, mailings, and song and music books.
  • Provide administrative support, including typing of correspondence and other documents.
  • Attend to the needs of visitors to the parish and maintain a clean and organized reception room and office area.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in music.
  • Experience with Catholic liturgical music.
  • Level I of the Diocesan Ministry Certification with renewal every three years.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with office staff and volunteers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English).
