The Optometrist will conduct eye exams for AEG and strive to practice to the full capacity of their license.
The Optometrist will support practice growth by establishing patient relationships and education to the patient on eyecare.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct Eye Exams: Perform comprehensive eye exams to diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
- Establish Patient Relationships: Build long-term relationships with patients through proper patient care and education.
- Provide Patient Education: Instruct patients on their options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, as well as visual wants and needs.
- Prescribe Eyewear: Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications as needed.
- Recommend Treatments: Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
- Provide Pre- and Postoperative Care: Examine patients' eyes before and after eye surgery.
- Evaluate Patients for Diseases: Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients to other healthcare providers as needed.
- Promote Eye Health: Counsel patients on how to clean and wear contact lenses, how often to have their eyes examined, and other eye health best practices.
- Doctorate of Optometry: Must have a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
- State Board Certification: Must have passed all optometric state boards.
