Optometrist Supervisor

Siletz Tribal Gaming Comm is seeking a highly skilled Optometrist Supervisor to lead our eye care department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring the highest level of patient care, and collaborating with our administration to drive quality improvement initiatives.

• Examine patients to determine visual acuity and perception, and diagnose diseases and other abnormalities.
• Prescribe corrective eyeglasses and contact lenses, or recommend other treatment options.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care to cataract patients and those who have had corrective laser surgery.
• Encourage preventative measures by promoting correct reading habits, nutrition, and hygiene.
• Participate in and/or develop community health programs, including outreach with tribal programs.
• Manage the optometry budget and oversee department operations and goals.
• Supervise optometry staff and assign work based on priorities, capabilities, and employee development plans.

• Doctor of Optometry degree accredited by the Council of Optometric Education and current license to practice optometry in a state.
• Relevant clinical experience and eligibility for malpractice insurance.
• Ability to achieve and maintain licensure with the State of Oregon.
• Develop and maintain positive working relations with Clinic staff, tribal members, and outside health professionals.
