Job Overview

Mohave County Community Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program Representative within the Workforce Development Division.

*This is a Grant Funded Position*

In this role, you will engage in professional activities aimed at delivering career coaching services to participants involved in employment and training initiatives. Your focus will be on enhancing employment competencies, providing outreach services, and facilitating vocational placements, all in accordance with the program and grant stipulations assigned to the Mohave County Job Center.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
Work will be conducted under the guidance of senior management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual in this position is expected to demonstrate initiative and independent judgment while executing program-related tasks, ensuring adherence to established policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement program mandates of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act, assessing eligibility for program enrollment based on income criteria and service priorities; communicate program guidelines to participants; enroll clients and develop employment and training strategies; provide continuous case management and career coaching to facilitate plan execution.
  • Maintain accurate client records in both hard copy and electronic formats, documenting all interactions with clients and families; ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements for active participants and follow-up post-exit.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and community organizations; collaborate with relevant agencies to develop cohesive case management strategies.
  • Stay informed about local job market trends and opportunities to offer informed guidance to clients; participate in job fairs, conduct workshops, and deliver group orientations or other outreach services.
  • Assist clients in identifying barriers to employment and encourage them to leverage personal and external resources to overcome these challenges.
  • Evaluate participant needs for support services; provide financial counseling and assess income/expenses to identify solutions for financial shortfalls.
  • Research and administer assessment tools; interpret results from various assessment instruments.
  • Review and instruct on employment competency curriculum, including pre-employment skills, work maturity, and soft skills development.
  • Participate in relevant committees and councils as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as necessary.
  • Complete special assignments as requested.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in line with Mohave County Personnel Policies.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field.
  • Two years of case management experience, including training in employment competencies and job skills.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training will be considered.
Special Requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for operation of motor vehicles.
  • Provide an acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.
