Custodial Support Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Custodial Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a hygienic and secure living environment for residents. This position encompasses a range of cleaning responsibilities across various facilities, ensuring that all areas are maintained to the highest standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance tasks across individual units, communal spaces, and external areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
- Perform cleaning duties in shared areas, including vacuuming, mopping, and washing surfaces.
- Manage waste disposal processes, adhering to safety protocols for trash removal.
- Monitor and report on cleanliness and maintenance needs throughout the premises.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks, particularly in vacated units.
- Execute floor care procedures, including stripping, waxing, and buffing.
- Implement pest control measures as necessary.
- Change light bulbs in common areas as required.
- Support maintenance staff and vendors as needed.
- Help maintain inventory levels in supply closets as directed.
- Participate in emergency response efforts for floods or fires when requested.
- Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Facility Manager to address and complete work orders.
- Engage in team meetings and training sessions focused on safety and operational goals.
- Conduct inspections of vacant units.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of two years in janitorial or maintenance roles, preferably in multifamily or hospitality settings.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; certification in fall prevention training is preferred or must be obtained shortly after hire.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
