Role Summary:

The Memory Care Recreation Assistant will spearhead the daily activities and recreation programs tailored to the unique needs of our residents. This role is essential in ensuring that the lives of our residents are enriched through both group and individualized activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a monthly activity calendar for the assigned neighborhood, catering to both group and individual programming for residents with varying levels of participation.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and assess individualized care plans, ensuring a cohesive recreation program.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of residents' participation and feedback regarding activities, adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Evaluate resident responses to recreational activities and adjust care plans as necessary to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in organizing and executing special events for the broader community.
  • Provide transportation for residents to various locations, ensuring compliance with licensing and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include coursework in eldercare, recreation, event planning, or related fields. Experience in geriatric care within long-term care or assisted living environments is advantageous. Candidates must possess the ability to obtain a chauffeur's driver's license and maintain an excellent driving record. Flexibility in working hours is essential, along with proficiency in English for effective communication.
