Nurse Care Coordinator Job Summary

The Nurse Care Coordinator at Medilodge of Campus Area coordinates and provides nursing care for residents, supervising and guiding clinical staff members to ensure the highest level of care.

Responsibilities include:

Documenting resident conditions and nursing needs
Implementing physicians' orders accurately and promptly
Assigning nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff capabilities
Supervising and evaluating junior staff members and CNAs
Administering medications and performing treatments for assigned residents
Participating in orientation and in-service training for personnel
Ensuring supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained
Reporting and recording pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be skilled in directing and motivating the workforce, able to work cooperatively as a member of a team, and communicate effectively with residents and their family members.

Additional responsibilities include:

Supervising nursing unit, including scheduling and directing nursing staff
Assuring inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit
Communicating need for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance
Performing other tasks as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff, ability to maintain confidentiality, and ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
