Job Opportunity at Thousand Hills Coffee

We are seeking a skilled Coffee Shop Manager to lead our team at Thousand Hills Coffee in Philadelphia, PA. As a direct seed-to-cup company, we collaborate with Rwandan coffee farmers, operate two washing stations in-country, roast in Atlanta, and serve communities throughout the US.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting beautiful coffee, creating purposeful work, and cultivating a flourishing community. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor inventory and maintain accurate records to ensure timely ordering and prevent unnecessary stock accumulation or depletion.
  • Increase revenue through effective sales strategies and customer engagement.
  • Oversee hiring and training of baristas to ensure exceptional beverage standards and customer service.
  • Create staffing schedules that balance labor costs and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Monitor team performance and maintain a clean and well-presented café environment.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services.
  • Evaluate menu items based on performance reports and customer feedback to drive business growth.
  • Identify strategies to retain and attract new customers through effective marketing and community engagement.
  • Attend virtual meetings with the leadership team in Atlanta and collaborate with apartment leadership partners.
  • Schedule live music and social events to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of coffee experience.
  • At least 1 year of management or leadership experience.
  • Experience with Toast and Homebase is a plus, but not required.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Full-time position with salary pay based on experience, revenue bonuses, paid time off, and health insurance.
