Position Overview

As a Utility Plant Operations Engineer at ENGIE, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the functionality of all utility plant machinery and systems. Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring and controlling the performance of various plant equipment, which may encompass natural gas and oil-fired boilers, turbines, emergency generators, chillers, air compressors, pumps, electric motors, and associated piping systems. You will report directly to the Shift Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid State of Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer's license.
  • Conduct plant readings, monitor utility system efficiency, perform water quality tests, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure optimal plant operations; maintain logs and records as required.
  • Communicate essential information from the previous shift to the incoming team.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new engineers.
  • Respond to alarms and assess utility system conditions, performing troubleshooting and inspection tasks as needed.
  • Execute startup, shutdown, and Lock Out/Tagout procedures for equipment.
  • Review and adhere to plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
  • Operate current and future utility plant equipment, including but not limited to boilers, turbines, chillers, and emergency generators.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
  • Work in 12-hour shifts (6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM), including weekends and holidays.
Additional Information
  • This position requires consistent attendance at the designated worksite.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is mandatory.
  • Driving a company vehicle on campus is part of the role.
  • Compliance with ENGIE's COVID vaccination and testing policy is required.
  • Adherence to all ENGIE ethics and safety protocols is essential.
  • The role involves 90% indoor work and 10% outdoor work, with potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Physical demands may include lifting items up to 50 lbs.
Compensation Details

Hourly Pay Range: $27.45 to $39.42 USD

This range reflects the average expected compensation for a qualified candidate. Actual salary may vary based on geographic location, experience, industry knowledge, education, and internal pay alignment.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus and incentive program.
