Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to the effectiveness of our physical therapists by identifying patient care issues, providing information and commentary, and implementing physical therapy directives.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises, instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
  • Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintain production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.
  • Maintain legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations, and JACHO standards.
Requirements:
  • Must have completed requirements for and hold a current PTA certification.
  • Normal clinic environment.
  • Involves standing approximately 80 percent of the day.
  • Some bending and stretching required.
  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
Organizational Requirements:
  • SOS Mission, Vision, and Values must be read and signed.
  • OSHA Requirements and training to include: Safety Training.
