Job Title: Medical Assistant - In-Office Procedures

At Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in our Riverside Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our orthopedic specialists in delivering top-notch medical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate communication between patients and providers by collecting and sharing pertinent information, and receiving and acting on directives from providers.
  • Prepare patients for visits with providers, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, reviewing intake paperwork, and pulling up radiology images.
  • Create and promote a positive patient experience by actively participating in the planning and setup of all supplies needed for procedures.
  • Assist the surgical team during operative procedures as assigned by the RN or physician, and maintain patient safety by monitoring sterile technique during draping and throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Responsible for daily sterilization of equipment and supplies, and maintaining universal precautions in daily job duties.
  • Assist with maintaining patient records, ordering, and stocking supplies, and communicate supply and equipment repairs to the RN.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care in a clinic, outpatient procedure room policies and procedures, patient safety standards, and surgical equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to problem-solve, adapt to change, and demonstrate compassion when dealing with patients and family members.
