Orthopedic Nurse Specialist

At Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our spine center, you will provide exceptional patient care and support our physicians in delivering top-notch orthopedic services.
Responsibilities:- Provide general nursing care to patients in the clinic, administering prescribed medications and treatments as needed.
- Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials, preparing equipment and assisting physicians during treatment and examination of patients.
- Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to medications and treatments to physicians, dispensing medication as directed.
- Educate patients and families about procedures and medications, ensuring appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
- Screen patients for appropriate information, maintaining and reviewing patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Start IVs for sedation and non-sedation patients, monitoring patients receiving IV conscious sedation safely and effectively.
- Interact with patients and customers daily to resolve patient issues and concerns, working in partnership with physicians, physician assistants, and back-office staff to provide excellent customer service.
- Assist the practice manager with staffing, assigning work areas and shifts, and acting as the liaison between the clinic and partnering vendors in relation to procedure/clinical operations.
- Collaborate with surgeons, surgery schedulers, and medical assistants to make accommodations for the use of the Spine Center for special procedures.
- Responsible for the ordering, receiving, logging, and inventory of all narcotic medications, assisting the practice manager in placing office supply and medical supply orders as well as helping with inventory management.
- Lead staff to efficiently direct patient flow throughout the clinic, assisting front office staff as needed with checking in and outpatients.
- Assist M.A.'s as needed with rooming patients, procedure room turnover, patient mobility assistance, and intake of medical history.
- Assist the Practice Manager with clinic operations and audits, in conjunction with the practice, training and orienting new employees.
- Lead ongoing quality monitoring of competencies of staff and assist in training and education of all staff.
- Assist the practice manager in coordinating employee evaluations and administering corrective actions.
- Assist practice manager with supervision of all clinic staff and is the primary contact person for all front and back-office staff.
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the recovery of patients post-procedures, demonstrating clinical expertise and professionalism when responding to emergency situations.
- Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of patient and organizational data.
