Position Summary:
In this role, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of our generating facility, managing a dedicated team under the guidance of the Assistant Plant Manager.

Your responsibilities will include planning, scheduling, and supervising all maintenance activities, ensuring that our power plant operates reliably, safely, and in compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the plant operates safely and adheres to all regulatory requirements.
  • Lead maintenance personnel and contractors to maintain plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to optimize resource allocation.
  • Schedule and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Continuously assess and enhance maintenance processes, ensuring staff training and adherence to industry standards.
  • Evaluate and budget maintenance activities to maximize cost-effectiveness and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct performance reviews and align employee responsibilities with maintenance objectives.
  • Investigate operational anomalies to enhance equipment performance and reduce maintenance needs.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and analyze forced outages.
  • Communicate effectively with management and administrative teams.
  • Supervise overhauls of plant equipment by contractors or staff.
  • Contribute to inventory management of spare parts.
  • Set departmental goals in alignment with stakeholder requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, with at least 6 years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel-fired power plant. Alternatively, an Associate degree or relevant certification with 4 years of supervisory experience, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a similar environment is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with wood-fired CFB boilers and steam turbine generators.
Other Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of power plant operations and maintenance functions.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and instrumentation.
  • Experience managing skilled trades personnel.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and maintenance management software.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to perform both administrative and fieldwork in various conditions. Candidates must be able to:
  • Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Climb, balance, and maneuver in confined spaces.
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions and noise levels, and must adhere to safety protocols when working near machinery.
