Compensation: The salary range for this role is $96,000 to $129,000.

Position Overview

Location: Woodland, CA

The individual in this role will oversee all personnel and equipment involved in the generation of steam and electricity during their shift. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, supervising, monitoring, and controlling all operations on shift. As the senior authority on duty, this position requires the ability to take necessary actions to safeguard personnel, the environment, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental protocols, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Manage housekeeping standards and take action to maintain cleanliness and order.
  • Provide direct oversight and feedback on all operational activities, including startup, shutdown, inspections, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Assist in departmental administration and power plant management, including budget preparation and maintenance of administrative documents.
  • Advise leadership on technical and administrative aspects of shift operations.
  • Monitor daily operational schedules and ensure adherence.
  • Facilitate training, development, and performance evaluations for new hires and promote high-quality work among technicians.
  • Act as the site representative during off-hours.
  • Oversee routine maintenance and support corrective maintenance efforts on equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with company personnel and external stakeholders.
  • Maximize plant efficiency while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
  • Be available for both scheduled and unscheduled shift coverage and respond to off-hour calls.
  • Uphold high standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Support various departments and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of power plant experience and 3 years in a supervisory role.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with solid fuel-fired power plants.
Additional Requirements
  • Effective communication skills and proficiency in mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of power plant safety policies, particularly regarding high-energy systems and chemical handling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of fundamental principles related to physics, mathematics, and electrical theory.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling. Employees must be able to access all areas of the plant, which may involve climbing stairs and maneuvering in confined spaces. The position may also require lifting objects up to 25 pounds and working in varying environmental conditions.
